Jan Berghmans was graduated magna cum laude from dental school (University of Brussels) in 1983. Jan is founder member and actual president of the oldest endodontic society of Belgium, the Flemish Society of Endodontology (FSfE). He is certified member of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) and served as country representative for Belgium at ESE and IFEA. He's been awarded with Honorary Membership of the Bulgarian Endodontic Society. While maintaining a private referral practice limited to endodontics in Brussels Jan Berghmans has been lecturing and teaching extensively both nationally and internationally. In 2013 Jan has been appointed chair of the ESE Corporate and PR committee.

Francesc Abella graduated in dentistry at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (Barcelona), Spain. He completed his Master Degree and PhD doctoral Degree in Endodontic at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya. He has given several lectures, courses and hands-on courses worldwide and he also works in a private practice limited to endodontics and restorative dentistry in Barcelona. In clinical endodontics his areas of special interest include cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in Endodontics, microcomputed tomography, dental anatomy, dental traumatology, periapical pathology, adhesive restorations, and restoration of root-canal-treated teeth. António Ginjeira is teaching Endodontics in Lisbon Dental School (FMDUL) since 1987. He is presently Associate Professor and head of Endodontic department, also director of the post-graduate programme in Endodontics and Vice-Dean of FMDUL. He was Co-responsible for the introduction of the operatory microscope and microsurgical techniques in Endodontics and Dentistry in Portugal, in 1995. He is presently President of SPEMD southern council, vice-president of the Portuguese Society of Endodontology and was President of the XVI Congress of the European Society of Endodontology – Lisbon 2013.
Imran Cassim qualified with a BDS degree from University of WITWATERSRAND In 1999. He received the African Oxygen Horace Wells Bronze Medal for the most distinguished student of the year in Anaesthetics in 1998. In 2009 He completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Endodontics at University of PRETORIA (cum laude). Wilhelm–Joseph Pertot graduated from St. Joseph University Dental School, Beirut, 1988. In 1989, he earned a certificate in the biology of oral structures from Marseille Dental School. In 1991, he earned a Master in Endodontics, from Marseille Dental School, and in 1991, a "Diplôme d’Etude Approfondies" from Marseille School of Medicine. In 1996, he obtained a PhD Thesis from Marseille Dental School, for his research on Growth Factors and bone healing. He was nominated Assistant-Professor on 1991, and was promoted Senior Lecturer on 1994. From 1992 to 1998, he has been Co-Director of the Graduate program in Endodontics in Marseille Dental School. He has limited his practice and teaching to Endodontics (conventional and surgical) and Oral Biology. He has been working in research on the physical properties of endodontic instruments, on the biocompatibility aspect of biomaterials, on tissue regeneration after surgery, as well as on pulp and bone biology. He has obtained several research grants for his different researches. He has more than 40 published papers on these different clinical and research topics in French and International Journals and has given more than 450 lectures and hands-on courses in Congresses and Dental Schools, before specialist and general dental groups, both nationally and internationally. He has recently published 2 books on Clinical Endodontics (in collaboration with Dr. S Simon), "Success in Endodontic Treatment" and "Success in Endodontic Retreatment". He is currently in a practice limited to endodontics in Paris.
Diogo Guerreiro graduated from Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde-Sul, Portugal, in 2001. He obtained a Diploma in Endodontics by the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Valência, Spain, in 2002. He completed his training in Endodontics at the University of Santiago de Compostela where he completed a Masters program in 2007. Diogo Guerreiro started his academic career as a clinical instructor between 2002-2007 teaching undergraduate endodontics and since 2011 he is affiliated with the full time specialty program in endodontics at the faculty of Dentistry - University of Lisbon where he teaches as an invited assistant. Nicola Grande received his degree in Dentistry (DDS) from the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Rome, Italy in 1999 with a degree thesis on the fracture of NiTi rotary instruments. After two years in the Department of Endodontics at the same University, he served as an Assistant Professor in Endodontics from 2001 to 2009. He has been Professor of Endodontics in the School of Dental Hygiene (2002-2008). Since 2009 he is working as researcher in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Roma -La Sapienza”. He completed his PhD program at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, in 2009, with a thesis on an innovative technique for the restoration of the endodontically treated teeth, that he has invented. His main scientific interests are the preparation of root canals with Nickel-Titanium rotary instruments, the study of anatomy and preparation of endodontic anatomy by micro-computed tomography techniques and the restoration of the endodontically treated teeth with new conservative approach. He contributed in the development of different instrument systems and new techniques. He is certified member of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE), of the American Association of Endodontics (AAE) and active member of the Italian Society of Conservative Dentistry (SIDOC). Nicola Grande has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and lectures both nationally and internationally, and he his an active member of the Italian Academy of Endodontics (AIE).
Gianluca Plotino graduated in dentistry from the Catholic University of Sacred Heart of Rome in 2002. He received the “Alfred Bean Memorial” prize from the Chicago Dental Society for the best Italian research graduate thesis 2001-2003, the "Hans Genet Award" from the European Society of Endodontology for the best European Researcher in 2013 and several other research prizes. He became Assistant Professor of Endodontics in the School of Dentistry at the Catholic University of Rome. He was Professor of Endodontics in the School of Dental Hygiene from 2005 to 2008 at the Catholic University of Rome where he has obtained his PhD in 2009. From 2009 he is working in the Department of Endodontics at the “Sapienza” - University of Rome as Senior Lecturer and Professor of Scientific English in the School of Dental Hygiene. Gianluca Plotino is certified member of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE), International Member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), active member of the Italian Society of Conservative Dentistry (SIDOC) and of the Italian Academy of Endodontics (AIE). He is part of the Editorial Board and official reviewer of several journals and has organized several research groups worldwide. Luc graduated in 1985 at the Academic Centre Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), the Netherlands, where he successfully completed the postgraduate endodontic program in 1993 under the guidance of Prof. Dr. P.R. Wesselink. He received his PhD degree in 2007. Since 1993 until 2010, Luc worked in a practice limited to Endodontics and held a position in research and teaching at the Department of Cariology, Endodontology and Pedodontology of ACTA. From 2010 until 2012, Luc worked as professor at the University of Toulouse (France). Actually Luc leads the Department of Conservative Dentistry of the Center for Dentistry and Oral Health at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and is Principal Investigator at the Kolff Institute (University of Groningen). He has published over 50 articles in the top journals of his field. Furthermore, he is (co) author of book chapters in international text books. Luc is frequently invited as invited lecturer on international conferences. The current focus of his research is the disinfection of the carious lesion and root canal system, which he systematically investigates with specialists in biofilm research, fluid dynamics and (sono) chemistry.
David E. Jaramillo is Associate Professor of Endodontics at University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry at Houston. Dr. Jaramillo started his Endodontic solo practice from 1990 to 2004 and started doing faculty practice in 2004 at Oral Health Center (USC), Loma Linda Endodontic and Loma Linda Faculty dental office. Dr. Jaramillo is a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Endodontics at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Carlos A. F. Murgel graduated from the University of São Paulo – Brazil. He did a Residency in Endodontics at the University of Iowa – USA, and the Doctorate in Endodontics at the University of Campinas – Brazil. Omar was born in Christchurch, New Zealand and attained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery qualification from Otago University, Dunedin. During his training in Otago he was awarded the Craddock Prize and a distinction in removable prosthodontics. After graduation Omar worked in private practice in New Zealand and then relocated to London in the UK where he attained significant experience in endodontics. Omar mentors new graduate dentists from all over Australia at Sydney dental hospital, as well as treating patients on the New South Wales State waiting list. He also practises at Specialist Endo Crows nest and is the sole administrator for the Facebook page, of the same name. In 2005, he completed his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and began specialist training in Endodontology at King's College, London. His groundbreaking research at King's, entitled 'Micro-computed tomography of tooth tissue changes following root canal treatment and post space preparation' was published in the International Endodontic Journal during his final year. This research has enabled him to lecture in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia and Malaysia.
Bojidar Kafelov graduated from the Medical University of Sofia Dental School in 2009. He has completed many continuing education courses in the field of endodontics. He has published his first case report in 2011 in Roots Magazine (Roots 1/2011). In 2012 he has published an article about pre-endodontic build up in Oral Health Journal, Canada. He has been a practicing full time endodontist at the Svedent Dental Clinic since 2009. He is a member of the Bulgarian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry and a Dentsply Maillefer opinion leader.
Paulo Monteiro obtained his degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde-Sul and his Master’s Degree in Dental Medicine at the Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz (ISCSEM) in Caparica, Portugal. He completed post-graduate training in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry at ISCSEM. Currently, he works there as an Assistant Professor responsible for the post-graduate program in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry and is occupied in a dental practice. In addition Dr. Monteiro is a PhD student in Dentistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He is involved in research of new dental materials, including composite resins, dental adhesives, dental ceramics and new digital technologies.
Erick Souza is Master and PhD in Endodontics from the Universidade Estadual Paulista in Brazil. He had a Doctoral Internship at ACTA, Amsterdam. Erick Souza is an adjunct professor of the Universidade Federal do Maranhão. He is also member of the editorial board of the International Endodontic Journal.
Daniel spent a year as a House Officer in the Dublin Dental Hospital, concentrating on both restorative dentistry and oral surgery. Following this, he worked in private practice for over two and a half years and completed the MFDS exams before beginning a three-year programme in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute. He lectures and gives hands-on courses for general dentists. Daniel also teaches Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute for Oral Healthcare Sciences.
Leandro Pereira graduated in UNICAMP. He is Master and PhD student in Pharmacology, Anesthesiology, and Therapeutics at FOP – UNICAMP. He is also a specialist in Endodontics, Microscope Dentistry and Conscious Sedation. Leandro started his work in microscope dentistry in 1998. Since then, he is dedicated to the developing of microphotography and micro videography. He has developed new microsurgical techniques, and he is one of the pioneers on the use of full piezoelectric endodontic microsurgery. He divulges this new microsurgical approach all around the world through conferences in countries such as the United States, Greece, Bulgaria, Peru, Spain, Mexico, UK and Brazil. He is Professor in the Endodontics Department of the Faculty and Research Center of São Leopoldo Mandic – Campinas – São Paulo. Leandro Pereira is the Coordinator of the Dentistry Photography Course at São Leopoldo Mandic in Belo Horizonte – Minas Gerais and Coordinator of the Endodontic Microsurgery Course of Branemark Osteo Integration Center. His general praticticioner training nature led him to author several chapters in various Dentistry books. He is also Member of the American Association of Endodontists, and First Responder by the American Heart Association.
Miguel Roig graduated in Medicine in 1986, and continued his studies with a specialty in Stomatology, a Certificate in Endodontics and a Ph.D. degree in Medicine, always at Universitat de Barcelona, where he served as Associate Professor for ten years. Since 1998 he is Chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics at Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain. He has published several papers in peers review journals, and has lectured in International Meetings and Universities from Europe and America. He is president of the organizing committee for the ESE meeting to be held in Barcelona in 2015.
